Village of Rantoul Police Officer Jose Aceves shows other officers the trail of blood on the ground after fatally shooting a man during a car theft investigation
The Village of Rantoul, Illinois has released some records related to a fatal officer involved shooting which occurred on February 6th, 2023. The shooting resulted in the death of 21 year old Champaign resident Azaan Lee.
Check CU is seeking additional records on this incident. The records that have been made available (police reports and body camera video) are provided below. Please take note that the first two videos are versions that have been edited by the Rantoul Police Department to clip and combine video and audio from two different cameras.
