Due to all of the problems I have uncovered in local government over the past five years, and on the urging of others who follow my work, I have decided to run for office. In November, I submitted my petition to be on the Democratic ballot for the Ward 2 seat on the Urbana City Council.
I believe the thousands of hours that I’ve spent digging into public records, reading ordinances and statutes, reviewing City issues and writing articles makes me a candidate like no other. I’ve had extensive and unique engagement with the Urbana government as a resident. I’ve been down in the City’s engine room and I understand how most of the belts and gears operate. It is time to see what I can get done from the inside.
Instead of writing a lengthy article about myself, here is my campaign site:
The Brookens is open for early voting for the 4/6/21 general election—for all except URBANA, that is!
Why is that? Do you still have the chance to pull off a nasty surprise with those mail in ballots, I wonder?
