The Champaign County Clerkâs website has been down most of the night and residents are left waiting on the vote count for more than a hundred candidates running in various races across the County.
Polling places in Champaign County closed at 7pm today, and results for none of the Champaign localities are yet visible. Apparently, the Clerk’s website crashed around 7:30pm. Neighboring Counties in Illinois began reporting counts around 8:30pm and as of 10:00pm the Champaign County website is still down.
Check CU has reached out to Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons for an explanation but has not yet received a response.
Update: as of midnight, the Champaign County Clerk’s website is back up, but the webpages showing vote tallies are still dysfunctional. Clerk Aaron Ammons is posting text file images on the Champaign County Clerk’s Facebook page. Mr. Ammons still has not responded to our questions.
