The candidate petitions for Urbana’s 2021 primary election, to be held on February 23rd, have all been processed by the City Clerk. Twenty-four candidates filed petitions for eleven different positions: Mayor, City Clerk, Township Assessor, Township Supervisor, and Alderman in the seven City Wards.
Four different Democrat candidates will compete in the primary for the position of Urbana City Mayor.
Of the twenty-four applicants, almost all filed as Democrats. Two filed as republicans and one filed as a Libertarian.
